Chevrolet Is Creating Big Waves with This Fun-to-Drive Small Car

There’s a lot of buzz in the air over the debut of the all-new 2012 Chevrolet Sonic and since it’s generated so much interest, we thought we’d give you an inside peek before it blasts off this fall.

EXTERIOR

As the only subcompact in its class to be assembled in the United States², Sonic is a "gee-whiz” force to be reckoned with. It’s got an aggressive, youthful design that’s backed by available turbocharged performance, plus agile ride and handling. It’s available in two very cool body styles: a stylish four-door sedan and a sporty five-door hatchback. What’s more, it’s super efficient. Paired with a manual or an available automatic transmission, Sonic comes with the standard ECOTEC 1.8L engine or an available ECOTEC 1.4L turbocharged engine. The 1.4L engine is expected to offer up to 40 MPG on the highway³.

INTERIOR

Inside, the fun factor continues with a dual cockpit instrument panel and motorcycle-inspired gauges. In fact, the big, round analog tachometer is a reminder that revolutions-per-minute is way more than an engineering term – it’s a call to action to enjoy the ride of your life. Speaking of ride, you’ll sit comfortably in front bucket seats while you crank up the XM Radio®⁴ offering 170 digital channels for three trial months on LT and LTZ models. Sweet.
